Today is the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality “Ozone Action Day.”
Residents in the Detroit area, which is comprised of Lenawee, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw, and Wayne Counties, are urged to avoid activities which lead to Ozone formation.
Such activities include:
- Refueling vehicles
- Using gasoline powered lawn equipment
- Using charcoal lighter fluid
Positive activities include:
- Biking to work
- Delaying or combining errands
- Using water-based paints
