Through its artist participation fees, donations and sponsorships, Clinton Township’s Festival of the Senses committee supports causes in and around town.
“One of our original goals was to give back to the community,” said Debbie Staller, 2014 festival chair. “Over the last seven years we’ve donated more than $25,000 to various charities in and around our community.”
Staller emphasized that the festival is in no way funded through tax dollars, and remains largely a free event to festivalgoers.
“We’ve helped to support so many great causes, like Henry Ford Macomb’s pediatric cancer care, the Challenger Baseball Field, and disadvantaged youth.
This year, the festival committee hopes to support the Clinton Macomb Public Library’s South Branch, the Tomlinson Arboretum, the Warren Concert Band and Charity Music, a nonprofit organization that works to provide musical instruments on loan to young artists who would like to pursue their musical talents.
